About
Israeli Aric Lapter, and Palestinian Rasheed Nashashibi met in 2006 at a Go-Kart race in Latrun (between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem). They discovered they both share great passion for racing and for peace, so they decided to combine those 2 passions into: Racing 4 Peace.
The mission of Racing 4 Peace is to send a message of peace and hope to the world and to the Middle East . Aric and Rasheed believe in making peace rather than just talking about it. . Since Racing 4 Peace began, Aric and Rasheed have done several testing sessions of Arics self built Formula Vee in Israel at the Arad and Nachshonim circuits. With successful British Formula Vee constructor GAC, they have also tested at the Silverstone circuit in the UK. Aric and Rasheed have been interviewed by TV networks and newspapers from around the world:CNN; Dutch RTL; German ZDF;Italian RAI The Jerusalem Post, German FAZ and FAS, Italian Sport Auto Moto, Italian Il Giornale, British Autosport, British Race Tech Magazine and British The Jewish Chronicle
Racing 4 Peace came up with a unique way to raise funds for its racing activity with a special pixel web site where people can choose pixels, upload their picture and send their message of peace. The bigger the donation, the bigger the picture; It is a unique, eye-catching livery of the people who have supported the project. With the pixel web site no longer active, the new web site still carries Racing 4 Peace past supporters. aTheir pictures can be found in the Sponsors page, which would then appear as a sticker on the side of the car. Racing 4 Peace still needs your donations and support. This can be done by e-mail. Managing the fund raising for Racing 4 Peace in this new web site is British motorsport writer :
Simon Stiel (see Paypal Donation button in our Sponsors page)
Rasheed and Aric are looking to continue testing and racing Formula Vee or in any other racing categories in order to continue to help the peace making between Israelis and Palestinians . They aim to represent the two states under the banner of one team: Racing 4 Peace!
